Baosteel's self-constructed industrial waste oil reuse project officially put into operation
Business Club October 18, 2010
Recently, Baosteel’s successful industrialization of industrial waste oil recycling technology with independent intellectual property rights—the first phase of the reclaimed oil project—was officially completed and put into production, and its annual regenerative capacity would reach 7,000 tons. This means that the industrial waste oil produced by Baosteel in Shanghai every year can be the largest and most technologically advanced industrial waste oil regeneration base in China.
The industrial waste oil of iron and steel enterprises generally comes from technological requirements such as rolling and lubrication, and the replacement of equipment hydraulic systems. It is a toxic and hazardous waste that the country has stipulated. Thanks to the extremely advanced exhaust emission control technology, developed countries such as Europe and the United States have adopted incineration of waste oil and supplemented by landfill. Domestic exhaust emission control technology is not yet perfect, so it is not appropriate to adopt incineration disposal methods. The disposal of industrial waste oil has become an environmental problem. Once improperly disposed, it will cause pollution to water bodies, air and soil, and in severe cases it will cause ecological and even life-threatening disasters. In the country, nearly 10 million tons of industrial waste and oil are produced each year. However, the enterprises engaged in waste oil processing are small in scale and technologically backward. It is easy to cause secondary pollution in the disposal process.
Baosteel built the first waste oil processing line in China as early as 1998, and subsequently launched two production lines one after another. As the processing technology at the time was relatively simple, only low-level disposal of waste oil was allowed. With the continuous development of enterprises and the continuous improvement of the requirements for environmental protection, Baosteel has also put forward higher requirements for the scale and technology of waste oil disposal. To this end, Baosteel cooperated with a well-known research institute in China and successfully owned a waste oil recycling technology with independent intellectual property rights to fill the domestic gap, and invested more than 40 million yuan to build a Baosteel Renewable Oil (Phase I) project. Newly-built waste mineral oil processing equipment adopts molecular distillation technology, and waste emulsified oil processing production line adopts high-voltage electronics and chemical processing technologies, which are the top domestic levels.
The “green†waste mineral oil can be used as a lubricant, and the waste emulsified oil can be used as a low-grade fuel oil for industrial boilers after being harmlessly disposed. The project has also used environmental protection investment to build a special biochemical pool of bacteria that devours harmful substances produced in the waste water through a specially cultivated bacterium. The final purified effluent can be recycled as industrial water to ensure that it is not in the process of disposal. Cause secondary pollution.
