Since its birth, synthetic diamond has been widely used in traditional industries, high-tech and other fields. High grade diamond is a kind of superhard tool material, which is an irreplaceable strategic material and widely used in industry, national defense and science and technology. Foreign countries use two-sided high-pressure equipment to synthesize diamond. Although it is suitable for high-grade diamond synthesis, the hard alloy high-pressure mold has a complicated structure and is difficult to manufacture. Faced with the reality of domestic materials and processing technology, China developed a unique six-face press in the 1960s, but the quality of the products is poor and the output is low, so that the high-grade diamonds required are mainly imported for decades.

How to make artificial diamonds reach high quality and high yield has become a long-term problem for domestic superhard materials workers.

On February 14, 2012, the State Council held a National Science and Technology Awards Conference in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, which was jointly reported by Zhengzhou Huajing Diamond Co., Ltd., Zhongyuan Institute of Technology, and Zhengzhou Abrasives Grinding Research Institute. After more than 10 years of joint research, systematic research and development in diamond growth conditions, special equipment, raw and auxiliary materials, and synthetic processes have been carried out. Integrated innovation solves the problem that high-grade diamond is difficult to produce high quality and high yield. It has ended the history of high-grade diamond dependence on imports for decades, and has made a historic breakthrough in China's high-grade diamond manufacturing technology, and has leapt to the forefront of the world.
