However, energy and the environment are faced with severe challenges, environmental protection pressures are increasing, air pollution is becoming increasingly complex, indoor air pollution appears, China’s urban air quality compliance rate is low, and urban hazy days are highlighted, making it difficult to cope with global climate change. Increase, the contradiction between energy resources constraints will still exist for a long time. Therefore, energy development must be transformed into green and low-carbon. It is necessary to strengthen the energy conservation priority strategy, strengthen industrial energy conservation, implement energy conservation in buildings, promote traffic energy conservation, and vigorously develop renewable energy.

Dr. Liu Qiang pointed out that various energy forms inevitably have environmental impacts, and whether or not the energy is green is determined from the whole life cycle. The key to green energy depends on intelligence and environmental management. Liu Qiang believes that as the development direction of the modern energy society, the smart grid must adapt to the pattern of community activities in order to achieve energy conservation and environmental goals. Therefore, a new type of social system needs to be established to realize the most efficient use of electric energy and heat energy. This is the smart community. Smart development must adhere to the following eight principles: a compact and convenient neighborhood community; a variety of convenient travel options; a harmonious relationship with natural ecosystems; greener, smarter and cheaper buildings and infrastructure; Housing; Working place close to the place of residence; Cozy local community lifestyle; Respect for individual opinions.

Regarding photovoltaic power generation and grid connection issues, Zhu Lingzhi pointed out that there is no technical problem with grid-connected photovoltaic power generation. Zhu Lingzhi said that the large-scale development of photovoltaic power generation has brought new challenges to the operation and management of the power system. By establishing a sound grid-connected standard system, strengthening the transmission capacity building of the power grid, and improving the level of operation and maintenance of the power grid and the degree of intelligence, it can be realized. Professor He Jinliang pointed out that the public is generally concerned about the electromagnetic environment of the electric power system. With the rapid development of electric power in our country, it will inevitably produce an electromagnetic environment composed of electric and magnetic fields during the process of electricity use. Professor He Jinliang quoted WHO's point of view that a large number of studies since 1979 have failed to prove that the low-frequency electric and magnetic fields in the living environment directly harm organisms, and that low-frequency magnetic fields do not seem to cause cancer. Do not rule out the presence of selective bias and confounding factors in epidemiological studies.

Professor Cui Xiang believes that China’s national economy will continue to grow rapidly in the future and electricity demand will be huge. The reverse distribution pattern of large-scale power supply bases and load centers will not change, the transmission distance will be further and longer, and the transmission volume will increase. Based on comprehensive technical and economic analysis, overhead lines are still the main transmission medium, and UHV AC/DC transmission technologies will be mainly used for long-distance large-capacity transmission and transmission across large areas.
