1000 kilograms of thrust turbofan engine realized by the Engineering Thermophysics Institute achieves 100% rotation speed

On January 29, the 1,000-kilometer thrust turbofan engine independently developed by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences realized the design speed for the first time at the R&D center in Langfang and reached the design thrust. During the entire test run, the indicators such as engine vibration, pressure, temperature, and chamber temperature were normal. The performance and reliability of the whole machine were initially evaluated and verified, and the phased objectives were completed.

This turbofan engine is the first 1000 kg thrust-level turbofan engine with complete independent intellectual property rights in China. It integrates a number of key technologies such as a diagonal-centrifugal combustor compressor and a layered part of the premixed combustion chamber. With the advantages of wide boundary, high Reynolds number, low fuel consumption, and simple structure, the indicators have reached the international advanced level. Next, the research team will continue to complete the durability test and high-altitude station test, and provide technical reserves for the development and improvement of turbofan engine models for civilian small-scale administrative engines.
