Zhejiang University Research and Development Hexagonal Column "Invisible Clothes"

Creating "invisibility clothing" that can achieve perfect invisibility is a dream for scientists, engineers and technology enthusiasts. The research team led by Prof. Chen Hongsheng from Zhejiang University is currently working on the mechanism and experimental research of electromagnetic wave "stealth clothing". They believe that although the current technology still has certain limitations, electromagnetic wave stealth will be a major opportunity for stealth technology to truly enter the realm of life.

When an electromagnetic wave (including light waves) strikes an object, it scatters on the object; when the scattered electromagnetic wave is received, it indicates that there is an object there. If you can make the electromagnetic wave "turn" around the object, so that the object can be "stealth", Chen Hongsheng team's research is based on this concept.

The team proposed a visible-wave-band polygon "invisibility clothing" design method that can theoretically achieve stealth effects in all directions. In experiments, they developed a hexagonal columnar "invisibility clothing" that can operate in the entire optical band. In addition, the team also produced a microwave segment cylinder stealth device.
