Yannuo logic introduced a new type of current output charge pump

The new device supplies up to 600mA of output current with dual adjustable sinking currents. Each LED channel can be programmed for 32 levels using a single GPIO output via Yannison's AS2Cwire (TM) (Advanced Simple Serial Control (TM)) interface. "The AAT3172 is a three-mode device that combines load switching (1X), fractional mode (1.5X ), Multiplication mode (2X) function combined with internal sensing circuitry to meet LED-compliant outputs for maximum efficiency. The 1x and 1.5x modes allow for the lowest current consumption of the battery at lower LED current operating conditions, such as flashlights and shed lights, which operate much longer than the flash mode of operation. Dual sink current allows system designers to use a single / dual (independent cathode) flash LED structure. The device's 32-stage single-wire interface facilitates switching and gives designers the flexibility to control brightness in flash or other lighting modes. The interface is also programmable to provide regulated voltage instead of current for additional system load. The AAT3172 requires only four external components: two 1.0 uF ceramic capacitors for charge pump flying capacitors, one for the input capacitor and the other for the output capacitor. The device also has a thermal management system and built-in soft-start circuit.
