Gas masks are used as personal protective equipment to provide effective protection for the respiratory organs, eyes and facial skin. According to the protection requirements, various types of canisters can be selected and used in chemical, warehouse, scientific research, and various toxic and hazardous operating environments.
According to the protection principle, gas masks can be divided into filter gas masks and isolated gas masks.
Filter type respirator
Consists of a mask and a canister (or filter element). The mask includes components such as a shell, eye window, phone, breather and headband (or helmet). Canisters are used to purify the exposed air, contain a filter layer and a sorbent, and they can also be mixed into filter plates and assembled into filter elements. Lighter (200g or so) canisters or filter elements can be directly attached to the mask, and the heavier canister can be connected to the mask through the airway tube.
Isolated gas mask
Oxygen is provided by the mask itself, divided into three types: gas storage, oxygen storage, and student oxygen. Masks are mainly used in high-concentration exposed air (volume concentration greater than 1%), or in special occasions such as anoxic high altitude, underwater or confined cabins.
Use environment
1. The canister is part of the self-absorbing filter type respiratory protection mask and cannot be used alone.
2. It is forbidden to use when the oxygen concentration in the environment is lower than 18%.
3. According to the difference of toxic and harmful gas concentration in the operating environment, the canister can be selected.
4. The use of canisters may be optional when the nature of the toxic and hazardous gases in the operating environment is clearly stated, otherwise use is prohibited.
5. The protective performance of the canister is specific, and it should be selected according to the nature of toxic and harmful gases in the environment. It cannot be used indiscriminately or mixedly.
6. Storage: The canister is 5 years and the warehouse should be dry and ventilated.
