In the first half of 2017, China's alumina exports decreased by 40.4% year-on-year.

From January to June 2017, China's total alumina exports were about 27,500 tons, a decrease of 40.4% compared with the same period of last year. The total export value was about 2,643,300 US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 13.5%. In June, the total export volume of alumina was about 0.34 million tons, up 9.2% year-on-year; the export value was about 4.382 million US dollars, up 36.9% year-on-year.
According to the trade volume, the top ten are South Korea (9349.71 tons), Japan (5051.61 tons), Australia (2707.82 tons), the United States (2051.09 tons), North Korea (1550.57 tons), Taiwan-Taiwan Golden Horse Customs Zone (1218.06 tons), Vietnam ( 1134.47 tons), the Russian Federation (559.75 tons), Iran (452.04 tons), Malaysia (392.46 tons).
