China's largest organic silicon production base settled in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu
The phase-two expansion project for fumed silica jointly invested by Wacker Chemie AG and Dow Corning Corporation in Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province was officially completed and put into production. So far, the Dow Corning-Wack Zhangjiagang organic silicon integrated production base has completed four main projects, becoming China's largest and most technologically advanced organic silicon production base.
Fumed Silica and Siloxane are key materials for the production of silicone downstream products and are widely used in the automotive, construction, cosmetics, solar energy, and textile industries. Wacker Chemicals is a technology leader in the global chemical and electrochemical industry. Dow Corning Corporation is the world's largest silicone research and development company. In 2006, Dow Corning and WACKER Co., Ltd. jointly invested 1.8 billion U.S. dollars in Jiangsu Yangzijiang International Chemical Industrial Park to start construction of a world-class organic silicon production base. The annual production capacity of its silicone plants and fumed silica plants totaled approximately 210,000 tons. .
