Among them, Penglai City has invested more than 600 solar insecticidal lamps, and each lamp can “cover†30 acres of orchards. Chen Jianzhuang, head of the Industrialization Section of the Agricultural Bureau of Penglai City, said that moths and insects all have phototaxis. The insecticidal lamp absorbs sunlight during the day and the insecticidal lamp emits light at night. It can trap and kill fruit tree pests and reduce or even eliminate the use of pesticides.
