Shandong Zoucheng natural gas gray cast iron pipe replacement project

Recently, the reporter saw at the entrance of the Yushan North Road Education Bureau in Zoucheng City. The workers of the City Gas Corporation are melting the PE pipes. Several pipes have been hot-melted and are being laid.

It is understood that the Zoucheng gas pipeline network facility was put into operation in 1991, and some pipelines are in danger of causing leakage due to corrosion and aging. In particular, 140 kilometers of gray cast iron pipes carrying natural gas are still in service in Zoucheng city and Yankuang area. Because of the brittleness and poor toughness of the gray cast iron pipe, it is easy to cause gas leakage due to the external force and it has become a major hidden danger in the safe operation of gas.

According to the requirements of the Shandong Provincial Housing and Construction Department, all gas companies in Shandong Province must complete the renovation and replacement of grey cast iron pipes by the end of 2012 to ensure the safe operation of gas. The reconstruction of natural gas gray cast iron pipes in Zoucheng City will take the form of integral promotion and slicing transformation, and will be gradually replaced by polyethylene PE pipes with good corrosion resistance and high flexibility. After the completion of the project, the pipeline will be leaked dangerously, reducing the occurrence of gas accidents due to old facilities. At present, the replacement and reconstruction project of natural gas gray cast iron pipes in Zoucheng City is under intense and orderly construction.
