Iranian carbon fiber plant unveiled on the 27th

According to Xinhua News Agency, Iranian media reported that Iranian officials opened a carbon fiber plant on the 27th, marking Iran’s initiative to produce this microcrystalline graphite material.

The Republic of Iran Republic ofRepublic of Republics quoted the words of Defense Minister Ahmed Vahidi as saying that the completion of this factory means that the Ministry of National Defense has completed a "strategic project" that puts Iran among the 10 countries that can manufacture carbon fiber.

“The design and manufacture of carbon fiber production machines are all done within the Department of Defense,” said Vahidi. “The carbon fiber manufacturing technology and the material itself are among the list of (embargo) materials involved in the sanctions. Constructing advanced defense systems (efforts) brings challenges."

Some experts said that Iran’s sensitivity to the production of carbon fiber is due to its “two-faced nature” that can be used not only for traditional weapons production but also in the nuclear industry. In the nuclear industry alone, this material can be used for the production of *centrifuge rotors.
