Commonly used resolutions in video surveillance
"Line" is the product of the simulation era. The world today is already a digital world. Therefore, we also need to digitally identify the resolution of an image, that is, pixels. At present, there are two kinds of video systems in the world: PAL system and NTSC system. Different countries and regions use different video formats, and there are some small differences between the two. As shown in the above figure, some resolutions commonly used in video surveillance, such as CIF, D1, 720P, and 1080P, are described as follows:
CIF: The resolution used in early video surveillance is PAL resolution is 352*288=101376, about 100,000 pixels, NTSC resolution is 352*240.
D1: standard definition video monitor resolution, PAL resolution is 720 * 576 = 414720, about 400,000 pixels, NTSC resolution is 720 * 480.
960H: Also known as WD1, the highest resolution that analog video surveillance can achieve, PAL resolution is 960*576=552960, approximately 500,000 pixels, and NTSC resolution is 960*480.
720P: The video above 720P resolution is called high-definition video, and the resolution of PAL system and NTSC system is no longer different. The resolution of 720P is 1280*720=921600, which is about 1 million pixels. The 1 million-pixel camera we often say is the 720P camera.
960P: The product of high-definition video surveillance on the Internet. The early high-definition video was mainly 720P and 1080P. Because of the flexibility of the network, many manufacturers introduced a 1.3-megapixel product, that is, 960P. The rate was 1280*960=1228800, which was about 130. CMOS.
1080P: Also called Full HD (FHD) video, the resolution is 1920*1080=2073600, about 2 million pixels.
The resolution in video surveillance is the same as the resolution we usually take with a camera, and the number of pixels represent the size and clarity of the image.
